FAQ

How do I select between a shafted and a shaftless screw conveyor?
The key lies in material characteristics. Shaftless conveyors eliminate the central shaft to prevent material winding, making them ideal for sticky or entangling materials such as municipal sludge, kitchen waste, and biomass straw. Shafted conveyors feature a classic design best suited for free-flowing, non-sticky dry powders and granular materials like cement and grain.
What is the maximum allowable particle size for conveying?
As a general rule, the screw diameter should be at least 10 times the maximum dimension of the largest material particle. If large particles account for only a small percentage of the total volume, requirements can be adjusted based on specific field conditions.
What incline angles and conveying distances are supported?
Standard conveyors accommodate horizontal routing or inclined conveying at angles under 20°. Vertical conveying configurations can also be customized with distinct engineering calculations. Single-unit lengths range from 3 to 20 meters in 0.5-meter increments, tailored to site requirements.
Can the system handle process functions beyond simple transport?
Absolutely. While transporting bulk material inside the fully enclosed casing, GSS screw conveyors can simultaneously perform mixing, stirring, or cooling operations, streamlining your processing line and reducing equipment investment.
